At two months old, Adriana can do all of the following:
- has voluntary (as opposed to reflexive) actions
- self soothes by sucking on fingers and tongue (she's also starting to like fabrics if they're available)
- quiets when held or when she hears voices or sees faces
- can hold head up at a 45-degree angle for a few seconds when lying on stomach
- smiles at people...especially Mommy and Daddy
- stays awake longer if interacting with someone
- tracks objects and lights
- gets excited to see people...especially Mommy and Daddy
- holds head fairly steady when in the sitting position, but it's still a little wobbly
- can discriminate among voices, people, and tastes (noticed the difference between milk and Tylenol)
- picks out Mommy's voice
- watches a person alertly and directly
- repeats sounds (she will repeat "ah," "oh," and "yeah")
- kicks and straightens legs when on back
- opens and shuts hands
- pushes down with legs when placed on a hard surface
- stiffens and tries to stand when held in lap facing someone
