...slept through the night last night!!!

This is how she looked from 9:00 p.m. until 7:45 a.m.  I was a little worried when I woke up at 6:00 and realized that she hadn't woken up all night.  :-)

Adriana Leigh is Two Months Old

Well...she actually turned two months old yesterday, but it wasn't a good picture day.  She had shots, and she just wasn't herself.  I decided to wait until today to get a picture so she would look like her regular, happy self.

At two months old, Adriana can do all of the following:

• has voluntary (as opposed to reflexive) actions
• self soothes by sucking on fingers and tongue (she's also starting to like fabrics if they're available)
• quiets when held or when she hears voices or sees faces
• can hold head up at a 45-degree angle for a few seconds when lying on stomach
• smiles at people...especially Mommy and Daddy
• stays awake longer if interacting with someone
• tracks objects and lights
• gets excited to see people...especially Mommy and Daddy
• holds head fairly steady when in the sitting position, but it's still a little wobbly
• can discriminate among voices, people, and tastes (noticed the difference between milk and Tylenol)
• picks out Mommy's voice
• watches a person alertly and directly
• repeats sounds (she will repeat "ah," "oh," and "yeah")
• kicks and straightens legs when on back
• opens and shuts hands
• pushes down with legs when placed on a hard surface
• stiffens and tries to stand when held in lap facing someone

Who Does She Look Like?

Of course, when a baby is born, everyone tries to analyze who he or she looks like.  Some keep the same look for their whole lives.  My nephew, Connor, appears to be one of these kids.  As soon as he was born, I said that he looked just like his maternal grandfather.  He's 7 1/2 now, and still looks like him.  Others change drastically over the years.  I used to look just like my Aunt Shelly, but now, I don't think I have a single feature in common with her.  It will be fun to see if Adriana keeps her look, or if she changes completely over the years.  No matter what, I'm sure she'll be cute.  :-)

Adriana's Baptism

If you're my friend on Facebook, you've already seen these pictures.  But, years from now, when Adriana asks me, "what's Facebook?", I still want to have a record of her baptism, so I'm including it on here.

Adriana was baptized on Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.  She was six weeks old.

Adriana did very well, and didn't cry at all during her baptism.

She has two godfathers, who love her very much:

And "Uncle" Jeff

Her grandparents came to celebrate with her.

So did three of her cousins...

and Zeke

Our friends, the Zickgrafs and Thomases, were there, too.

Mommy's cousins, Nick and Celeste, came as well.

Adriana's gown was made out of Gramma Coley's wedding dress, and she looked beautiful in it.
