Adriana's Baptism

If you're my friend on Facebook, you've already seen these pictures.  But, years from now, when Adriana asks me, "what's Facebook?", I still want to have a record of her baptism, so I'm including it on here.

Adriana was baptized on Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.  She was six weeks old.

Adriana did very well, and didn't cry at all during her baptism.

She has two godfathers, who love her very much:

Uncle Brandon

And "Uncle" Jeff

Her grandparents came to celebrate with her.

So did three of her cousins...

Connor

Quentin

and Zeke

Our friends, the Zickgrafs and Thomases, were there, too.

Mommy's cousins, Nick and Celeste, came as well.

Adriana's gown was made out of Gramma Coley's wedding dress, and she looked beautiful in it.

Measure Up Monday - Week 7

Adriana continues to interact with us more and more.  She is "talking" a lot...if only we could understand what "n-guy ah ah nye" means.  :-)  She is smiling a lot.  Sometimes she babbles while she smiles, and it sounds a little like laughing.  For the most part, she sleeps 4 - 5 hours at a time at night, but she wakes up anywhere from 6:00 - 7:30, no matter how long it's been since her last wake up.

Adriana has a special message for someone this week.  Since she's kind of hard to understand, I wrote out what she would like to say.

Okay, so she's not advanced enough to say all that, but Adriana is starting to mimic.  Check it out:

For the record, this is a skill that she is supposed to develop by the end of month 2.  She started it at 5 weeks, 4 days old.  I'm so proud of my smart girl!

Yesterday afternoon, Adriana couldn't quit smiling at me, and I thought quickly enough to grab the camera.

Measure Up Monday - Week 5

Why this is a day late:

I planned to have Adriana wear the same outfit each week until she outgrows it so we would be able to see just how much she is growing/changing.  Yesterday when she woke up, I put her in her pink-and-black-polka-dot outfit.  When we got downstairs, she ate, and then I put her in the chair for her picture.  She spit up all over the outfit.  This upset her, and she started to cry.  Even after I changed her, she was still crying, and I didn't want to take her picture like that.  Once she got calmed down, she fell asleep.  Then we ran errands.  And it just never worked out to get her picture again.  So, here she is...in a different outfit.

And even though she's not looking at the camera, I had to include this next one to show off her new skill:

She's smiling!!!!

And, by the way...she's outgrown her newborn clothes.  :-(
